One of the better ideas I’ve ever had as a photographer was taking my camera to all the incredible Fourth of July events in the Triangle Area. The first event was at Cary and I met this amazing family there! The happy dance I did when I got Kate’s email asking me if I would photograph a Downtown Cary Park documentary session for them was honestly super embarrassing.
But hey, the joy was real. And really just the herald of a joy-filled family photojournalism session.
It was an absolutely perfect day in Cary when I stood by the giant water fountain at Downtown Cary Park while waiting to meet up with everyone. I mean it. Perfect temperature, perfect humidity. We couldn’t have asked for better.
When I spotted Kate’s family, she introduced me to everyone. Including a very special little guy who was celebrating his birthday from out of town. What better way to spend a birthday than with all your cousins?
I instantly noticed that everyone had little boys. Oh man. The energy they brought was off the chart. But really, are any boy-moms surprised by that? I knew I was in for a blast of a session.
Boy, did those kiddos bring it! I wonder if that’s why we punctuate sentences like that with “boy”. Hmm.
They wrestled, played tag, got too close to the water, wrestled some more, and climbed on whatever they could. It was a super awesome. Scroll down to check out their Downtown Cary Park photo session for yourself to see what I mean!
